Celebrating the National Fisheries Day 2024 and Free Nutritious Meal Month, MDPI held an educational outreach event combined with a nutritious lunch distribution at Sumerta 10 Public Primary School, Denpasar, Bali. The activity, aimed at students from grades 1-6, created an engaging and interactive learning atmosphere.

Held on Saturday (07/12), the event was met with enthusiasm by the students. They actively participated in the educational sessions, which included engaging quizzes on marine species that are nutritious to consume and endangered fishes that should be avoided. Teachers also joined the activity and expressed their appreciation for its implementation.

Through age-appropriate education, we hope to instill the values of sustainable fisheries from an early age,” said Yasmine.

The lunch menu was thoughtfully curated to reflect MDPI’s commitment to balanced nutrition, with fish as a primary source of protein. This aligns with MDPI’s mission to support both sustainable fisheries and the health of younger generations.

MDPI remains committed to promoting education and social programs that support environmental and community sustainability, particularly in the fisheries sector.
