Field Implementer East Bali-Karangasem

MDPI is looking for a Field Implementer, the incumbent will be implementing a program on the site and coordinate with internal staff or external parties to support MDPI’s work plans in the field. 


  • Incumbent is the MDPI representative who conveys correct information regarding project objectives and activities, to stakeholders and the community in the work area by helping to coordinate various MDPI program activities in the field
  • Collecting fishery data at the location using the port sampling methodology according to the methodology described in the Side Port Protocol and making reports related to I-Fish data on a regular and regular basis to manage data collection programs and support required fishery program improvements.
  • Ensure that the data inputted in the report are actual and detailed by verifying and validating the incoming data to I-fish and providing input in improving the I-fish function.
  • Complete the form of ETP species interaction (Endangered Threatened Protected) with a high standard of professionalism, comply with the specifications in the protocol and follow the applicable standards and then make the ETP species interaction report downloaded to Dropbox/ IFish regularly and continuously.
  • Daily coordination with officers at fish landings/suppliers/processors and fishermen when implementing the port sampling program.
  • Always coordinate regarding and related to duties and responsibilities, and important findings/events.
  • Involve with the team in planning, implementing, and reporting on various and related MDPI activity programs in the field
  • Implement and ensure the installation and arrangement of vessel tracking technology tools and electronic monitoring (Installing Cameras on ships) on fishing vessels according to the targets that have been set.
  • Update data on KUSUKA, BPKP/Small Pas, and fisherman insurance at the group level and help facilitate group independence in managing KUSUKA, Small Pas/BPKP, and fishermen’s insurance
  • Together with the team conduct weekly and monthly meetings on site for evaluation of ongoing activities and for planning activities for the following week
  • Build good relations and coordinate with stakeholders and government at the sub-district, district, provincial and national levels
  • Make individual reports in accordance with their responsibilities such as attendance lists through the system, activity reports, leave applications, reimbursements, financial reporting, and others
  • Perform other tasks required by the organization as directed by the Supervisor.



  • Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Science or from any major
  • Minimum 1-year working experience in the same position and have experience in NGO/NGO or have graduated from the study.
  • Excellent computer skills especially Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
  • Reliable reporting of activities to a high standard with accountability and accuracy of work performed
  • Able to speak good and correct Indonesian and communicate in English well and fluently
  • A person who is detail-oriented, target-oriented, high initiative, and organized
  • Able to work in a team and a good team player
  • Having skills in problem-solving and adapting to various situations
  • Able to work in a fast and active organization
  • Willing to travel frequently to the implementation area in Indonesia and willing to work overtime when needed.
  • Experience working with small and large communities
  • ability to communicate and present if needed with cross stakeholders both internal and external: Government (national, provincial, and district), academia, project partners, private sector (processors, suppliers, distributors), fishing communities, fishermen, other NGOs, providers influence/supporting donors, etc.
  • Open to Indonesian residents, especially local men/women in Bali
  • Strong interest in developing small-scale fishing communities
