Vessel registration

Small-scale vessels in eastern Indonesia are not usually registered, resulting in the actual number of vessels in the fishery being underestimated and generating consequent uncertainty in management of the fishery. Regarding transparency and legality, our department supports Fishery Improvement department to ensure all vessel involved in the I-Fish data collection program are registered on the I-Fish database and are assigned a Vessel Identifier Code. From this step, the vessels can be submitted to the National Record of Vessels Authorized to Fish Within Indonesia Archipelagic Waters (RVIA) and the Proactive Vessel Registry (PVR) under The International Seafood Sustainability Foundations (ISSF). We also support small scale fisheries in Maluku area specifically to get license.
